The remodeling process in pictures

The following is a collection of photos I took (some good and some not so good) of my progression on this hunk of junk, $40 camper I found on Craigslist last year. The guy (who also happened to own and breed dwarf cats) said that if I could tow it home, it was mine for $40. One intense, cop-dodging hour later, she sat in my dad's backyard while I gutted it out. I built a fire nearby and threw everything on it. This beauty is a 1974 (or maybe 75) Play Mor. She is 13 feet long and weighed in at about 1700 lbs. Long story short, about 9 months later I 'finished' it and took it on the road with my wife and 3 year old son. We traveled about 300 or so miles and had a great time. The spirit of the Play Mor lives on! Hope you enjoy the photos and if you have any questions, I'm at gabrielrutledge@gmail.com. Too bad this doesn't necessarily look good on a resume or anything...

My mom and Stacey are totally disgusted and agree I wasted $40.

What came with the camper.

This is worth $40 alone.

My brother got suckered into helping me out.

Austin helped me out for a while and I owe him big time!

  1. This is terrific. We just acquired a 1974 14'Playmor, in pretty good shape, but this is very helpful in seeing what's behind the paneling and such. I really like the way you redesigned the inside. Looks great! Thank you for posting this.
